Who Will Serve The Community, the Country, and Lead in the Future
Welcome to the website of CNU’s College of Engineering Sciences.
he College of Engineering Sciences consists of thirteen departments for professional research and career, namely: the Department of Architectural Design, the Department of Mechanical Design Engineering, the Department of Refrigerating & Air Conditioning Engineering, the Department of Biotechnology, the Department of Production Systems engineering, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Semiconductor Engineering, the School of Electrical Communication Engineering, the Department of Computer Engineering, the Department of Plant Engineering, the Department of Chemical and Bio-molecular Engineering, the Department of Environmental Systems Engineering, and the Department of Marine and Civil Engineering. In addition, the College established early employment-contract programs such as Mechanic IT Convergence Engineering, Smart Convergence Process Engineering, and Smart Electrical Control Engineering in cooperation with local industries.
e provide specialized curricula and prestigious faculty members for each field of study to offer a higher quality education. In addition, we strive to cultivate creative talents to respond to the demands for innovation in engineering education and set a new direction to proactively prepare for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and for its corresponding educational paradigm. In particular, we are preparing for the changes in the environment of college education regarding the rising industries that lead the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The College of Engineering Sciences has continued its efforts to foster customized talents for local industries and arrange employment for students through various cooperative projects with local industries. For instance, it has been selected for the ‘Smart Plant Corporation Contract Project’ of the 'Leading Universities of Early Employment Contract Projects', a scheme governed by the Ministry of Education. It also established the Yeosu University-Industry Convergence Campus as a part of the ‘University-Industry Convergence Campus Project.’ Recently, the College of Engineering Sciences established the Department of Industrial Technology Convergence Engineering to develop professional talents, which is a specialized program for high school graduates who chose to work in the field before starting their university studies.
The ultimate goal of the College of Engineering Sciences is to cultivate engineering majors with creativity, the humanity for open communication, and a willingness to serve the local community for mutual development. The College of Engineering and all of its members are dedicated to establishing mid- and long-term development plans and creating future-oriented educational values for industry-academic cooperation, strengthening research systems, cultivating an internationalized mindset, and improving global competitiveness. We will lead in the development of universities and become a vibrant engineering-focused university that will create a better future for all. We hope to fulfill and support your precious dreams coming true in the College of Engineering Sciences.
Thank you.
