Global Korea Scholarship Program Application Guidelines for Graduate Degrees

Chonnam National University is accepting applications for Global Korea Scholasrship (GKS) for Graduate Programs. This program is designed to provide international students with an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at Chonnam National University in Korea in order to promote international exchanges in education and mutual friendship between countries. If you are interested, download the information file and send it by post or in person in the application by March 12, 2020

Qualifications: 
- Applicant and parents must hold foreign citizenship
- Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2020(born after September 1, 1980)

- Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree as of August 31. 2020.
- Above 80% (out of 100%) C.G.P.A or within 20%(out of 100%)
(Exception: A former or current GKS scholar must hold the grade of 90% or above) 
- Should have GPA of at least 2.64/4.0,2.80/4.3,2.91/4.5,3.23/5.0 or higher

※ Applicants who have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Korea are NOT eligible to apply. (Except for for Overseas Korean Adoptee applicants and GKS students) 

※ Applicants who applied to other University besides Chonnam National University are excluded from being considered for the second round.

3. Scholarship Benefits :
-Tuition(Master's: 4 semester waived/ Doctoral: 6 semester waived)
- Living expenses: 1,000,000won(around 820USD) per month
- Reserve fund: 200,000won (around 180USD) on their arrival
- Roundtrip Airfares
- Medical Insurance: Full coverage during stay
- Support Period: 
MA/Ms (Sept. 1,2020-Aug.31,2023): Korean Language 1yr+ Course work 2yrs
Ph.D(Sept. 1,2020-Aug.31,2024): Korean Language 1yr + Course work 3yrs
